Things to Know:
SEVENS NEED:  We need help this Saturday to go around about 45 minutes BEFORE the 6:00 meal (around 5:15) and handout flyers up and down Pearl Street and up and down the Creek by where we serve the meal. Too often the homeless are in need of a meal, but unaware we are there. We want to get the word out. Can you help? If you can help, please let Darren Gregory ( know.
THE BIBLE FROM A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE:  As you find a deeper faith and understanding of God’s love for you, how does the Bible fit into that? Starting on Sunday, October 16th, and running for 6 weeks, John Stonecypher will be teaching a class during 2nd Service about the Old Testament of the Bible. If you come to the 1st Service, stay for the class, or if you normally come to the 2nd Service, come a bit early to the 1st and stay for the class. Please feel free to come whether the Bible is familiar or foreign to you. Everyone is welcome. John will do a 6 week class in the Spring on the New Testament.
CLOTHING DRIVE:  As winter (and cold weather) is coming, please consider going through your closet and seeing if you have anything you could donate to help. Some of these items you may even be able to pick up for a good deal at a store near you (maybe even tell the store manager what it is for and they would give a discount!). We are looking for anything new or gently used. Bonnie Pettis, Darren Gregory, and Barb Gregory are heading up our Clothing Drive over the next month. Here are the things needed that we will give out at SEVENS over the next 6 months:
*Winter Coats
*Socks (lots of socks!)
*Sleeping Bags
SEVENS: We feed the homeless of Boulder a couple of meals every month. We provide a nice meal @ 6:00 p.m. @ Boulder Creek Park located at 1095 Canyon Blvd   (Next to the Boulder Library, on the other side of the Creek). Please sign up on the Gold Tables for one of the Saturday nights to help bring food. We will be serving on Saturday, October 8th and Saturday, October 15th.
MOVIE GROUP & DINNER:  Sunday, October 9th, at 7:00 p.m., we will watch “Chicken People” (click here for the trailer). DINNER WILL BE SERVED (Chicken Tortilla Soup, Salad, and Dessert!). You can meet other people from The Journey in a relaxed environment, get to know each other, and enjoy some free entertainment. The Pritchard’s address is 1448 W 134th Drive, Westminster, CO 80234. For more information or if you have questions, contact Adam Pritchard (972.854.3037) or
Thing to Know:

FINANCIAL UPDATE:  We have been trying to give a financial update at the end of each month. We had more positive results in September. We brought in $15,206 in September, above our budget of $14,000. We need to bring in about $4,000 extra the rest of the year to meet budget for the year. Obviously, we have had more people giving a bit, as well as some more people giving a bit more than normal. Please continue to do this as July is often one of our lowest months of the year. Please continue to help financially. If you have upped your giving, a sincere thank you. If you have started giving, thank you as well. We still need a few more people to give a bit or give a bit more. Please think it over and help out in the months ahead so we can stabilize the finances of our church home.
Ways to help:
Automatic Withdrawal:  We have included a form with this e-mail. Simply print it off and return it to the offering basket.
Checks from your bank to us:  Our mailing address is: 9798 Otis Drive, Westminster, CO 80021.
Place your offering in the baskets in the service room each Sunday.
Thank you again for participating over the last few months. We are very close to being financially solvent heading into what should be an exciting Fall as we look for ways to include more people in the good things The Journey is doing.
-Michael, Jackie, & Robb
KING SOOPERS GIFT CARDS:  Continue to use your cards. All the money from these cards goes to Compassion Opportunities @ The Journey, including SEVENS, DIVE!, and food bank help.  The cards are free (and come with $5 already pre-loaded). They cost you nothing to use. You will add to it before your shopping (simply have the cashier add money to it BEFORE ringing you up or you can take it to the Customer Service Desk).  Shop or get gas and then use the card to pay. King Soopers gives The Journey 5% of all money used from these cards. Our goal is to bring in $500/month from these cards to continue to continue to do good in the world. If you need a card, ask one of the pastors and they will hook you up!
