The Journey Church – A Place of Acceptance – An Emerging Church – Westminster, CO

A Place of
Inclusion

What to Expect

The Journey is truly a unique place in our culture. It is not a religious institution. In fact we consider ourselves the opposite of organized religion. Instead, we are a community of people who follow Jesus, and together want to help care for, and change, the world around us.

Here are a few things that might help you when you come:

  • The Journey service is different every week. We have various elements to many of our services, including dialogue time, various forms of music, art, teachings, times of silence, communion, and a variety of other ancient spiritual practices. We borrow from ancient spiritual traditions and forms to create a truly unique and sacred space.
  • Freedom is one of our main goals during our service. During more communal worship times, please feel free to stand and sing, sit and meditate, or simply be a part of the worship in whatever way is comfortable for you. So also we have a Worship Room on the side for communion, meditation, journaling, Scripture reading, and confession. Please feel free to use this room at any time during the service.
  • Our refreshment table, with a variety of foods and drinks, is available throughout the service. Please feel free to come early and eat, get up at any time and grab something, and stick around afterward to talk with people as you snack on food, donuts, coffee, teas, and juices.
  • There is no formal offering at The Journey. No plates or baskets will be passed while you are in the service. In fact, we have never passed around a formal offering in a service. We will not ask you to give anything financially to The Journey. There is never any pressure to give.
