Caring Through Action: The Journey’s Community Support Programs

Find Friendships and Build Lasting Relationships

The Journey’s community support initiatives include DIVE! for food rescue and distribution, SEVENS providing home-cooked meals for the homeless, and various monthly compassion opportunities like drives for diapers, school supplies, and winter clothing, as well as initiatives to support AIDS orphans and families in need.

DIVE!

Food Rescue Program

DIVE! is The Journey’s food rescue program. We have saved hundreds of thousands of pounds of food and delivered it to people in need. We partner with local grocery stores, which save food for us that would otherwise be thrown away. We pick up the food and deliver it to area food banks and also individuals in need. This is not only canned foods and bread, but we also save produce, cheese, meat, and a variety of other things as we look for ways to provide food for others.

SEVENS

Home-Cooked Meals for Homeless

SEVENS is a meal we provide for the homeless and those in need in the Westminster area. At 5:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month, we prepare a home-cooked meal, serve it, and clean up afterward. This meal happens at the Westminster Presbyterian Church (3990 W 74th Ave, Westminster, CO 80030).
